From Native American point of view, I can see their perspective. However, whoever you choose to enshrine, sculpt or build, you realize it’s a human, right?

There literally is not enough space here to provide the proper ethnohistoric context as to why the Black Hills (where Mount Rushmore is enveloped in) are considered sacred to many associated Native American Tribes. So for those interested, I've attached an article.  If your place of creation, a place where your ancesters lived and died, a place where you conduct religious ceremonies and maintain your traditions, a place where you and your family and community derive your sense of belonging in the world was desecrated by your colonizers and oppressors, would you really want to see their faces everyday of your life? The history surrounding this place from a Native American perspective is very complex, steeped in a lot of cultural trauma, and definitely worthy of your time to get more educated on the issues before passing judgement.
