My nephew is the #1 basketball player in the nation for 2023. So by the time he goes to college these school are going to make allot off of him. He already has 13 offers as a freshman. Plus his social media he has 2 million IG followers. So you know schools are looking at him as a profit for the school... so we will see what happens....

Definitely these kids need to get paid , the university's are just using them. I’m so glad the G league is taking kids right out of high school , and hope the NBA  changes the rule soon

Yes there should be a sort of “profit share” for each sport. This money should go into an account that can’t be touched till after their collegiate career is over. This would preserve the amateur aspects to some degree while letting these athletes participate in revenues they generate.

Yes!  About time!  The argument all this time has been that the players were not professionals, but it was ok for the NCAA to pimp them out and make all the money they were making.  It's only going to be a select few players that will garner any consideration for marketing endorsements or promotions.

Yes just makes good sense, and for anyone who think its just going to give some schools a bigger advantage, it doesn't matter because this shit already happens. Frankly, it levels that playing field.

My biggest issue with paying players is if the money was coming from the school. Would the freshman on the women water polo team get paid the same as Trevor Lawrence? People would have made that argument.This model with the payments coming from endorsements and other outside sources is the perfect compromise.There is still work to be done, if a kid gets a free lunch its still technically a violation, and that needs to change, but this is a step in the right direction.

I actually like what the NBA is doing with the G league and I like the fact that these kids will able to get money 💰 because just like everyone else they will be able to make a living and just maybe those star players that are afraid to play in certain games, risk injury will play because they won't be afraid of losing out on money.
