Should Grant Napear have resigned for his All Lives Matter take?

No that so ridiculous, he made a statement on how he felt, while it may have been mocking or a dig, he's still has his right to his opinion just like everyone else. Now if his work didn't like what he said thats a risk he took by making that statement using his podium as the voice of the team.

Kings Announcer Grant Napear Loses Job After 'All Lives Matter' Tweet

Based on what I've read, this tweet was just the last straw. 

Since his tweet, multiple players have called him out on Twitter, with Matt Barnes saying "Would expect nothing less from a closet racists [sic]."

Yes, I understand that he may not have understood the context of "All Lives Matter" as a way to discredit the Black Lives Matter movement. 

And yes, he has the right to his opinion. 

However, he is expected to represent the Sacramento Kings and if his statements don't reflect the views of the organization, then he shouldn't be a part of the organization. 

And as a media member, he is expected to stay informed on the rhetoric being used surrounding an issue with the nationwide attention of this. 

Yes, his resignation was necessary.

So here goes...I know Grant, not well, but I know him.  He has always been a pleasant guy to me, and treated me with professional respect.  I saw Boogie Cousins bait Grant, and C Web pile on.  DO these guys not like Grant because he was critical of them, or is it because they know something, that perhaps we don't know?  My guess is they didn't like the hometown voice of the team criticizing them as players and who knows, perhaps as people?  Either way, I don't like it when people or teams crumble to public pressure.  My colleagues told me today that All Lives Matter is now an insult to BLM...as the fighting continues, a career is lost, why? How did this do good for anyone involved?

I think most of us have figured out that saying "all lives matter" is like saying the Black Lives Matter movement is not legitimate. He should have known better. I've become more sensitive as a white guy and I still don't agree with everything the BLM stands for, but I respect the fact that I am not stopped while driving white.

He should not have resigned if that us truly how he feels. If the kings organization felt differently then he should have been fired. I don't know the man or his intentions but everybody should be allowed to have an opinion.  But with an opinion cones potential consequences.
