I will defer to Will, in my white guy opinion, it’s not that racism is more prevalent, it’s that media is more available. 

In the case of the man killed in Minn. there were plenty of people to video tape, but i one, including other officers, to intervene. 

This stuff has been happening forever, but now everyone is armed with a camera and social media platforms, to report and share the video.

Some would say when our current President took office it has gotten worse.  So it could be a combination of what Will Smith is saying and the current President.  Before the ability to record it was still happening just harder to prove.

Although I agree with Will Smith, media/tech has increased exposure to racism that has been despicably going on through out our Nation’s history... I also feel racism and the violence around it has unfortunately increased since his interview. There is no room for it in this world, it’s disgusting, horrible and unacceptable. C’mon we’re better than this America!

He is 100% correct. The Floyd incident was reprehensible but not an indication racism is getting worse. And tolerance of racism is not there. Nobody likes what they saw unless they are deeply racist.

It is becoming a more visible problem now which is good.   And not just for White vs. Black, this situation would be gross no matter the race and the cop should be punished and having it on film will only help with that.
