Yes, absolutely.  Keep in mind since he will be and is a two-way player, even though he may be rehabbing as a pitcher he can still hit and be the DH.  With Maddon at the helm after the debacle Brad Ausmus experiment, Ohtani will be in good hands.  Angels know what they have and along with he and Rendon, they finally have support for Trout who is arguably the greatest baseball player of our time.  Look for the Angels to be one of the most improved teams in the AL this year!

In this case makes plenty of sense and no point in rushing him back. His Bat alone is good enough.

Why rush him when he still has value as a batter??? With the huge investment made on him, they are smart in being cautious while still getting some productivity. It’s not lime they are holding him out the majority of the season. This way, if they happen to be in playoff contention, his arm will be healthier and fresh.
