I think what has happened in the aftermath of George Floyd will FINALLY create real and lasting change. When cops kneel, or bow their heads at protests, amongst the protestors, Cops realize more so than ever, the code of the cop must change, because the bad cops are making the majority, the good cops, look bad. The bad cops, have made it more dangerous for all of law enforcement. The people won’t tolerate it any longer, and the good cops are getting tired of the few bad cops receiving cover. 

Throw on top, a major sports celebrity, white nfl qb, offends so many, and apologizes, but wakes up many in White America who feel the exact same way about the Anthem, but now seem willing to be more understanding of what that protest meant. 

This is a defining moment in American history and police reform is coming, regardless of where you stand on the issue.

They have changed already in both ways. I personally know police officers on both coasts and some are taking these protests and are understanding the African American community response and empathizing with them and others are downright becoming more irritated.

Absolutely I believe the protests taking place will lead to change sin the relationship between the police forces and the black communities they serve.  We are at a pivot point in America and the injustice towards the BLM movement has been exposed.  Times they are a changing.

I think they will have a chance and seems like they are changing. At the same time this isn't something that will happened overnight nor will every single cop/squad will come to terms.

I hope so. There have been sincere efforts but it's got to sink in now that there are still a few bad apples who need to be weeded out - just like in every profession including doctors, lawyers, business owners.

Some minor changes and accountability have been initiated... increased awareness and empathy for sure but I certainly hope the momentum continues and big time change and reform are yet to come!

I do agree, we just don’t know at the moment what the lasting changes will be.
What changes?
Police departments around the country are already having a difficult time recruiting, will there be a pool of  viable candidates available to choose from?
Who in the hell would want to be a 
cop right now!
Reforms will take place locally but the big question is at the legislative level.
