I get the basis for the electoral college so it spreads out the distribution of voting power. 
However, for all the people who don’t want the popular vote because CA, TX, NY, FL, etc would dominate the #’s ... the flip side is we’ve got Ohio, FL, and a only a couple others currently deciding our fate as swing states. So, we’re leaving it up to States that waffle and can’t make up their minds ???
At least through a popular vote - or revamp the electoral college - it could truly mean “every vote counts”  ... but currently, it’s not the case for all the dems in red states and vice versa.

Where you live doesn’t matter, if the majority of Americans vote for a candidate the majority will win. Iowa deciding an election every 4 years, no one cares about that? Because it normally aligns with your POV

Alex, if NY and Cali have more population which they do, the states in the middle would never be able to have a voice. As an independent, I don't appreciate right or left wing extremists running the country. That's why I am in favor of the electoral college. Thanks! If there are more “liberal elitist” in this country then what is wrong with that? If the majority of people vote for a candidate their political views don’t matter. The majority voted for them and that’s what it should be.
