If you are a long time San Diego sports fan, did you listen to 690AM?

Listened to 690 when it was a music station. When it turned to sports it was San Diegos Sports leader. Hacksaw was at his prime. Scott and BR were born. Was great 👍

I first started listening to 690 am in 1987, when I was 13 years old, working as a dishwasher at a spot called Honest Fish that used to be located on Encinitas Blvd. Those early days into the 90s were special. So much talent moved through that station. I've been a listener to sports talk in Diego ever since. Scott Kaplan continues to carry the torch forward into the 2020s. What an evolution.

Very cool, I remember when Sean Salisbury and BR had the morning show and after Sean left they brought in a few people to hang with BR. Scott seized the opportunity and never looked back. San Diego/So-cal listeners have been the beneficiaries ever since and all these years later. Man, time has flown. We are getting older Joe!

Couldn’t agree more... as soon as Scott and BR came on the seen I was hooked and instead of listening at work it was on my preset in the car and didn’t ever change LOL

Definitely, it's amazing how time flies and, at least for me, those days set the stage for me to continue to enjoy listening to this day. Appreciate SK and his and his crews efforts all the time. I know you do as well.

Agree.  I remember being a young teenager and listening to Jim Rome while going to sleep and hacksaws headlines in the afternoon.  Been listening to sports ever since.
