Is California making the right move by mandating that all new cars sold must be zero-emission by 2035?

I'm happy with my Hybrid. It gets over 40 mpg, and won't ever leave me stranded. Also, we'd be the only state with the mandate, Arizona will not agree to it. The cost of water and other materials to make the batteries is a non-starter

The real objective of mandated electric cars is to reduce human mobility and isolate people where they can be killed by starvation or disease. Prices of EVs may seem to be coming down with government subsidies now, but that is the sales gimmick. Once 2035 (more likely sooner) rolls around, the government will drop the subsidies, EVs will get very expensive, private car ownership will be banned, and people will be forced into 15 minute concentration camps (aka smart cities)  where they can easily be cut off from the rest of the world  and starved to death. It only takes a month or less to starve. And since this is not a video game, there will be no white horses or other cavalry to the rescue. The planet will not be saved from anything because there is nothing to save it from, but it will make no difference because only robots will be around to see it. But what the hell, these are just consequences and no one cares about consequences.
