At my fraternity house we have a surveillance cameras around the house and rarely wind up using them. 

I guess if you are continually having your packages stolen, then I think they're unnecessary

I wish it wasn't but lets face it there are some shady people out there. It really makes people think twice too about doing something. 

The pimps right, the don't matter 99% of the time, but that 1% always seems to happen and then you regret not having them.

Yes, it keeps people honest, especially the fake cameras.

can't be too careful these days and if cameras provide some peace of mind then that works for me
