Not sure if you asking for a critique of your debates or not. Instead I will just talk about my opinions:

1. First, I am weird and proud of it.
2. My interests are history, philosophy, travel, and things that annoy me.
3. I try to think of debates that are interesting, eye opening, and that will get a lot votes.
4. I mostly fail at #3.

Doing some research ahead of time and adding a comprehensive background and citations helps a ton. The best debates are ones where everyone is somewhat informed and not just referencing headlines and hot takes.

If you look at the fire debate they are all over the map.  A lot of the stuff I really like seems to bore most people.  Just be you and don't try to figure out the secret sauce

Debate topics and questions vary in terms of how they resonate with people from diverse backgrounds. For me, I like questions that have the capacity to generate longer form comments and some back and forth with users, especially where you have diverging perspectives. On Sided, I mostly come on here to debate and comment on sports related topics.
