Closing bars in California is the right thing to do.

In the contact tracing, they have found the most positives from bars, work place, and home parties. Barely any from the protests. I've seen pictures and heard from friends that the bars in Encinitas, PB, Mission Beach, downtown, etc., are all packed.

I honestly think SD has been doing a great job distancing in bars. I've been out a few times and had plenty of space and people were following the mask rules. The beach is where the problem areas will be. If they are looking for a preventative strike, that's where to start.

The largest problem is taking mask off  when in bars and restaurants which is a requirement for consumption for food or drink. There is no way to get around the spread if you are taking your mask on and off in bars or sitting in a restaurant for an extended period of time while eating. This virus is spread through the air but also lives on surfaces for significant amounts of time.

If just the bars without food licenses can’t see it making much of a difference... the restaurants with bars and have licenses will now likely get packed and seems unfair to the establishments without. Just doesn’t seem like it will make any difference IMO

Yep, it’s the bars and not the protests. That makes a lot of sense!

If the government forces a business to shut down they should compensate them to keep them afloat until they allow them to re open.
