Is Gavin Newsom going to go down in history as a great governor?

Personally I think he has done an adequate job as Governor...not good/great but adequate. He seems to be gunning for a Presidential run in 2024...at least that’s what I see. I DO think his intentions are well-meaning but his execution on things can be puzzling. Look at the high speed rail debacle or how he wanted undocumented/illegal folks to get stimulus money. Sometimes I scratch my head with him!

From what I have seen so far he has done good to me.I will have to go back and look at what people are saying about him on the NO side because what I have only seen so far and payed attention to is what has happen since corona.

I wouldn't judge him just on his response to coronavirus while which was initially probably appropriate, his refusal to relinquish control back to the local counties and his attempt to give taxpayer dollars to illegal immigrants (My description of this is people who do not pay taxes) instead of the people (tax payers) who will eventually have to pay for it. Doesn't really make me describe him as a good Governor.

Additionally, I believe he was involved with the raising of State taxes just after the feds cut them and payroll taxes to help business/people. 

Lastly, maybe if he can help resolve/push forward our current Education, Housing, and homelessness issues without just pushing for more taxes or money and actually come up with some reasonable issues then I'd give some though to calling him a good governor, but considering these will probably be continued to be ignored I will not.

I met Gavin Newsom and he is very approachable but he seems to be stuck in a political rut of being a Democrat rather than a great governor. This disease afflicts most politicians but politicians who put party first over common sense and the greater good are not great.

His overall job as a governor will need to be looked at to see how he will be remembered. This current situation will probably define him

Newsom merged into the highway filled with connected, lifetime politicians with mostly an eye on ways to enrich himself and his kids and their kids down range.  Newsom, is boring and not all that impressive other than he plays the game well.  Helping the citizens - eh.  He just tows the D line.

Thats my issue it appears to be skin/surface deep only. The rail debacle is a great example, while he said he was going to kill it, and yet then has tried to get more funding to complete a portion of a uselessness. Which the money from could have helped with some of our bigger issues. And yeah the whole undocumented stimulus check is just ridiculous considering the taxpayers who are getting screwed right now because they can't work/go back to work will be the ones to pay for it and get hurt more by it.
