I cannot believe that we can't get a report that is clear, concise and apolitical. Which cities are really spiking and why? Are hospitals really at capacity re: ICUs? I read or hear from left leaning publications that we are dying. Right leaning publications think this is just another year. I feel like it is somewhere in between but in all my years, I have never encountered a subject that I cannot get my arms around--except COVID!

I understand the data but based on how media puts it out there it could be easy to get confused.

I’m a numbers guy, but it’s difficult to find a reliable source for what’s really going on. Most major news sources have some sort of slant (which makes since given we live in a free market), but I’d enjoy finding a source that just projects the numbers to me coherently and concisely.

Statistics can be manipulated and are only as good as the source data. The CDC used to get their numbers directly fromnthe hospitals. Not any more... however the Data rhe CDC would get was delayed and dependent on the people inputting the data not to make any mistakes....

It feels like a trial.  Each side can bring in expert scientific witnesses, use the same evidence and skew it in the favor of their position. I’m thoroughly confused. But, what I do know is that headlines don’t always tell the whole story as they usually include words like could, maybe, and possibly.  For instance, the news reports that 97% of the ICU beds in RivCo are in use.  But, only 14% of the beds are Covid patients which means that they’d be always working at about 75% capacity anyway, right?  Who knows anymore??

I know I am completely confused and I tried hard to make the debate question free of prejudice. Leading questions are not as effective! Great job on 710 btw.
