Padres need to do something with their manager (fire) how dare he put Tatis on blast in public.....

tyler

The boss can tell you what to do and what you did wrong

Pawpaw

The Pads have never won shit or played with a chip on their shoulder. It may not be cool for the opposing teams, unwritten rules or not, Texas they threw the pitch in a middle of a game and Tatis swung at it. That's baseball.

Play ball, if they can’t stop you it’s not your fault.. I’m. It letting up on anyone. Let’s say if they started to make a come back and lose what are you gonna say then if he didn’t swing at all

Management 101: You never reprimand anyone in public.

Albert Long

Manager was wrong the moment he addressed it with the media with more then no comment or its being handled internally (if he had said nothing to the media I'd had no issue, but the moment he did the moment I believe he will lose that club house eventually). If the other players want to talk to him thats there call, but not just scoring when you can is a losers mentality, especially in a 60 games season where every game is affecting you.

To top it off your calling out a player who is coming up to a big pay day and will outlast you with the team.

Glad so many people came out in support of Tatis.

Derrick McQuinn

He should have stood up for his player and said something to him in private. I don't know if I'd fire Jayce, but he's definitely on my shit list.

EyeHoleMan

Do you want him to play the Best He can or do you want him to take it easy on his opponent. Tingleberry still has a hard on for The Rangers!

While I’m not on the side that is calling for Tingler’s job but let’s be honest LA did the same thing to the Padres last week and no one batted to that.

Antiquated unwritten rules like don’t swing on a 3-0 pitch when you are ahead should be ignored.

Bubba

Neither of these all the way. The manager definitely has every right to coach how he feels. But he should do it in a less public way.

MaryBeth Zmuda

There have been thousands of MLB blowouts. I have never ...never, heard a manager complain about his OWN player hitting an HR. Should he swing gently when ahead by 5+? Maybe Tingler’s fragile ego was bruised when Tatis missed/ignored his pointless “take” sign. Traitorous! #fireTingler

Michael Dunbar

He’s was so wrong and it’s really pathetic it was still a competitive game and it’s the kids first grand slam and now League leading in almost every category. Tingles has also played this season very passive and like a 162 game game season and taking some games off. Let the kid play we haven’t done anything we need win and beat down everyone that’s pathetic.

Completely and utterly disgusted that niño had to APOLOGIZE for hitting his first career grand slam.

As a sports fan, I say what an idiot coach. As a Dodgers fan, I say LOL Padres
