White cops and civilians wash feet of Black Church leaders and beg for forgiveness is this ridiculous or a sign of Unity?

VERIFIED

Jesus washed the feet of his disciples to model how we are to treat each other with humility and respect. The moral of that story is if God can humble himself so should we.

Albert Long

Just when I thought I have seen it all. These white cops are pathetic. Washing feet and praying won't solve anything other than 2 people having clean feet and some white people thinking they are now saved from their racism

Jason

I'm tired of seeing shit like this. 99% of this is all propaganda. How about those cops spend there time turning in all the bad cops in their department. Trust me all cops know who the bad cops are they are just too scared to say anything. White cops kneeling and this case begging for forgiveness and washing feet is a great photo opp but let's see some REAL change

This particular video is totally absurd

Well, I would have assumed that most know that the Pope has washed feet as a sign of unity before. It looks and sounds ridiculous and I am not signing up but it is in fact a sign of unity. Sometimes these questions ask our opinions, to me this is about facts and intent.

There should have been a 3rd option.
None of the above.
Any attempt no matter how small or trivial it might seem should be applauded. The world needs to heal and move forward but should never forget why we got here. A few weeks ago this would have been considered unfathomable, now it is seen as microscopic. Change is coming and society as a whole will be better after all this.
While the act itself is obviously abysmally insufficient, it's something that might start a butterfly effect of positive effects.

it's a biblical reference and i don't really subscribe to that book. but even if it weren't i think that this is a bit much for me.

Christian here, this is def biblical, but the usage of this is propaganda and guilt, conviction is a biblical stance Guilt is not!

Guys night Lab (Jesus)

If my girlfriend ask me to wash her feet in public I would pass dawg. I won’t even do that here at home, if their white guilt makes them feel Ol then go for it but that’s too much

Gustavo

I don’t even know what to say. Do you think this is normal behavior?
