Should agents start advising their players/clients to decline trades and draft picks to go to Dean Spanos and the LA Chargers?

Yes it will ruin their careers and give them the Spanos curse

No go to any team willing to take you as the highest bidder even if its Spanos and a horrible franchise with no fanbase and you will be cursed forever

Toby McDonald

Would do everything I could ethically to advise the client to avoid the Spanos organization at all costs

I don't believe in curses and honestly if a player has a chance to make money that can help positively affect his family both now and for the future, maybe even for generations, then there is no sense in trying to have them go somewhere else because they aren't going to be working for one of the all time great ownership teams.

Absolutely. Whether it’s a free agent or draft choice I recommend staying away from the Chargers with Spanos. Cheap, untrustworthy, and a history of consistent losing makes for a bad look. Plus let’s not forget that new stadium will have a certain echo at times, and every game feels like you’re on the road.

I feel like anyone reading this would take an NFL opportunity no matter what team or owner it was for. So I don't endorse trying to mess around with anyone else's chance at their dream.

As an LA native and lifelong Raider fan I can say that I want to see as many big time players go to and then fail with the Chargers as possible. It should have been the Silver and Black getting the second spot in LA so for the Chargers to have made the moved they did to steal that spot in LA from us they deserve to fail in the biggest and most public ways possible

Lets Watch Something

pretty easy to vote this side, even if the alternative is still being payed to play pro sports. We just saw in Jacksonville that when players grievances against the team started to become public the perceived possibility for loosing free agent opportunity led to Tom Caughlin being let go. This kind of public pressure from agents could possibly be the first step in the actual removal of Spanos ownership.

As a proud Seattle native and Seahawks fan I can say this is honestly fun to watch and Im all down for the Spanos era in LA being as much of a comic dumpster fire as it can be so we can just sit back, relax and enjoy the fun of other teams failing

The Music Man

I don't get hoe sports brings out this side in people, we aren't here wishing the people in any other fields of work curses and bad luck so it kinds seems like everyone should just sorta grow up and not focus on this kind of nonsense with their lives

Political Insider

It won't ruin their careers, unless they get seriously injured. An agent should advise to their player(s) if they want to play for a team that has no fan support, even if they were winning.

George be careful when you say “way before Spanos” because that would mean pre-1984. Gene Klein experienced only a few losing seasons in the Fouts era (1976, 1983 and 1984) while owning the team and turned the keys over to Alex Spanos in good shape. The Spanos family turned the club cheap which is why the team failed to produce a super bowl winner.

I DISAGREE. THE CHARGERS ORGANIZATION IS THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSING WAY BEFORE SPANOS CAME INTO THE PICTURE. SPANOS PAID HANDSOMELY HIS QB RIVERS...RIVERS DID NOT LIVE TO EXPECTATIONS. TO ME THE NAIL IN HIS COFFIN WAS LOSING THE PLAYOFF GAME TO 'BUTT FUMBLE' SANCHEZ 17-7...@ QUALCOMM

George Pimentel

do you really think that pressure fro twitter and angents can be a domino effect that leads to an ownership group having to be replaced in the NFL?

I hear you but most of these players have many choices on where to play. It's not as if the Chargers are the only team offering them a job. High draft picks will still be drafted and paid. I dont agree with rookies pulling an Eli Manning. But also wouldnt blame them for not wanting to go play for the Spanos organization

Yes any of us would. But I'm talking about big named free agents or first round draft picks. They can play for any team why would they be advised by their agent to play for Spanos?

There are some people in this world that deserve failure and usually its greedy billionaires that only care about themselves and trying to get richer at the expense if others. Dean Spanos deserves to fail.
