Do you agree that Antifa is a domestic terrorist group?

Toby McDonald

Yes, just saw live footage from news 8 downtown as they are being dispersed. A bunch of alternative white kids in the front of the line causing problems, then they even brought lawn pumps full of milk in order to remedy the tear gas. These people are professional instigators.l, the whole country was coming together on the death of George Floyd and ANTIFA uses it as an opportunity to create division and anarchy.

Aaron Sutherland

They are certainly a bunch of entitlee misguided youths. But Trump calls them an organization. I dont think they are a formal organization with memberships etc. So not sure how you can truly even determine if they are part of this antifa thing or not

Regardless just from YouTube videos they don't seem to serve any positive purpose in the community and should be treated as criminals like anyone should that breaks laws

First, Antifa is a militant, left-wing, anti-fascist political activist movement engaging in varied protest tactics, property damage, physical violence and harassment against those whom they identify as fascist, racist or on the far-right. Yes, they are to be treated as terrorists if in fact they have incited this violence.

VERIFIED

yes they are pieces of garbage. They are nothing more than violent rich white teens and college kids wearing masks trying to start trouble. They serve no purpose and just as bad as the KKK

Jason

My bad. I clicked on the wrong side, but how can anyone be on a terrorist side? Right, left and center have the choice of coming together or being destroyed by our masters.

I hardly shade right, but these aholes need to go. Screw them.

Yes, I believe they are a terrorist group and need to be dealt with accordingly

As long as groups such as neo Nazis, the Klan etc are labeled terrorists also then they can be lumped in too. Problem is I don't hear Trump calling white supremacists, Nazis, the Klan, etc terrorists, he calls them "very fine people". If those groups aren't terrorists neither is Antifa. That means they're also very fine people committed to their cause just like Nazis & Klan.

Phil "Doc Orange County" Herrup

Ever since reading this question, I have been researching what Antifa is. I have read articles, watched YouTube videos, called some people in law enforcement, not sure Trump can declare them terrorists, but their violence can not be accepted.

Anyone who is out looting and destroying are domestic terrorists and should be punished.

No problem with the peaceful protests, though it has to be tough for police to tell the difference

Derrick McQuinn

If they're committing acts of terror then yes.

The Red Pimp

100% they're as bad as the alt right. violence and bigotry are horrible and unacceptable regardless of where it comes from

MaryBeth Zmuda

Scott since you are not familiar with them, here are some relatively common (though not universal) characteristics of an Antifa member:

1) White
2) Dyed/colored hair
3) Fat/out of shape
4) Masked (even before the pandemic)
5) Probably from out of town

Another point: Antifa has long been associated with George Soros, and remember - the woman who ran against Mara Elliot for San Diego attorney general in the last election was heavily funded by George Soros.

It’s what I’ve always understood but first to admit that I’m not really sure their agenda... based on what I’ve seen on the news and media they are.

Joe Rigby

I think so. Not only that, but I think they are exploiting a cause so important today. They see an opportunity to hide behind the genuine protesters to loot, destroy, and cause mayhem.

Whoops you are right. Clicking without paying attention

So you agree they should be considered national terrorists? But voted No?

Toby I have been researching since you posted.

https://www.nytimes.com/article/what-antifa-trump.html

I am not sure who they are for and against?

And anyone who disagrees with them is obviously a “fascist”

They claim to be anti - fascism whatever that means, they are basically just violent anarchists

I had never heard of this group and trying to understand who they support and who they are against.

Bob, I am trying to figure out who they are supportive of, and opposed to.

No they can't, plus with having to deal with the Peaceful protestor can tell its making it tough and sucks cause you can see there been spread too thin.

I dont have a problem calling them terrorists as long as Nazis, KKK & similar are labeled 'terrorists' also.

Charlottesville. He didn't say, 'Nazis/KKK are very fine people'. He said (referring to white supremacist rally in Charlottesville that was chock full of neo Nazis & KKK among others) that there were 'very fine people on both sides'. Meaning white supremacists/KKK/Nazis, etc and those who protested/battled against them were all 'very fine people'. You can look it up, it was at a press conference at his hotel.

Not saying I don't believe you. But can you site references where Trump has called th KKK and Nazis 'very fine people'?
