Cody Eakin >>> Joe Pavelski. This was a 5 minute major

Was this penalty against Cody Eakin that sent the Vegas vs SJ Western Conference Game 7 into chaos worthy of a five minute major?

A crosscheck/shove during a faceoff is so incredibly common and not usually called. Just because he fell on his head it's 5 mins/game misconduct? What in the world?

A major was excessive, but a 2 for cross-checking, plus the second penalty (2 or 4) for a second stick to the face as he fell was warranted. Penalties are penalties, whether or not it's the playoffs, and players are responsible for their sticks.
