First thought, why are we talking about a now retired qb who was good but never great?As for over rated vs under rated, Jay Cutler was over rated because NFL GMs prefer something they know.Cutler was a solid NFL passer, the numbers back that up, which is why Cutler can get pulled from the broadcast booth back to the field. BUT, good passer does not mean good qb, that comes from the heart, not the arm, Jay’s issue was his lack of leadership skills.

Fantastic Set of Tools to work with. Didn't have the mental makeup to put it all together and I think that's why we look back on this guy and say "Meh". No one's praising this guy anymore, but not many people are saying he sucks. Did he miss opportunities, sure, was he not that clutch, sure. But he was fine. Meh.

Only time I saw him seem to give a shit was when he was matched against the Chargers and he and Rivers were chirping.

Always, his face said, he was miserable! That led to teammates around him not believing in him!

When he first came into the league from Vanderbilt, his potential was off the charts. He was regarded as the second coming if Elway. Potential becomes reality in the playoffs.

Yes, those were some memorable games. Almost comical seeing those two go back and forth.
