I think I'd give Trout the nod here. He's got a .305 batting average, .419 OBP and a 1.000 OPS. He's making his case as the greatest pure hitter of all-time. Ichiro was an incredible pure hitter, but Trout has been better IMO. Tony Gwynn was great as well, but only played two years in the 21st century.
