He's a 30+ year old pitcher at a time where we have plenty of younger pitchers ready now/1-2 years from now. This is especially the case with a pitcher who clearly wants well over $15+Million and more years than any sane team would give him.

There's a reason no one has met his excessive 5 year deal and price.

In this day of age MLB starting pitchers last about 4-5 innings per game. That right there is taxing on bullpens and their managers usage of them. DK is an innings muncher and take the bump for at least 7 innings every five days. That right there is huge, because it will take less off the bullpen. I think if the Pads can finish April 5-10 games over .500, make a serious move to acquire him.

If we add a good pitcher we could definitely win the wild card.

Agreed! At this point there's not much to lose!

Very good points! I was more or less thinking of a 1-2 year deal and he could help mentor our young pitchers.

I agree! Plus the mentoring he can do to the young staff would be huge! See if you can snag him for 2 years. It's worth a shot!

Should the Padres sign Dallas Keuchel?
