The jury is still out. Cable still has advantages but streaming is coming on strong. We have a homeowner association and are stuck with cable. How long will cable hang on? As long as they creatively bundle and provide a better product. I suspect they have one generation left. Out of business in 25 years.

It seems like it's only a matter of time before everything will be streamed. The advantages are you can stream from anywhere no matter where you are.

Just seems like it is, on top of it all so many chance on cable that most don't ever watch.

I don’t think my kids are even aware of anything else and feel it’s only a matter of time now.

Joe Rigby

Eventually. And part of the reason I say this is that it will create a better freedom of choice. It will come to this.

Pay TV (Cable TV) is already dying over here in Oz. Foxtel keep losing subscribers, and they've now gone and started up a sports streaming service (Kayo) to stop the bleeding.
Myself, I stream via Fetch TV, which for $11 a month (about $7.50 US) I get ESPN, ESPN2, MTV, Comedy Channel and some other niche channels.

You are only required right to cable when comparing to satellite. Your HOA should not be able to control if you have cable or not, right?

and such a waste of time scrolling through the channels!
