anyone here ever tried/owned an electric bike?

I saw a whole family with low rider ebikes. I was jealous. Those things looked awesome. But I wonder how many families get into debt for toys?

i have one and i LOVE it. i'm about to upgrade to the one in the picture

Cruising down the beach on an electric bike sounds like fun

I love e bikes, but the really good ones, with the big fat tires, are really expensive! Once you get on one, it’s hard to not want one, and the really good one! They are like a moped from back in the day. So nice to be on the beach cruising on an e bike.

I'm personally interested but I could see why someone would be and seen some pretty cool ones. My dads been looking for the right one for my mom. The biggest problem I've heard is weight.

Like Mary, I have an electric bike, too. I absolutely love mine as it is my main source of transportation. It is on the hills where I notice a big difference. No matter how steep the hill is, I feel like I can crush going up it every time. The major drawback is that you can't ride it in the rain.

I love my bike and appreciate the effort and workout. I suppose someday I'd like to use an electric bike but these days I love my Giant brand bike.

I’ve tried em’ pretty cool. Tried out electric scooters too and way better (a ton cheaper too) so opted to get those. Hit me up if interested in the scooters have a hook up 👍

it's called Lectric XP and it's 899 shipping included. there are ton's of youtube videos (watch the one by Talon Sei) the bike looks pretty badass

I have to disagree with you Jason. My bike is electric but it is pedal assist only, no throttle. I am still getting exercise while riding a bike. The equivalent of this debate is wearing fins while swimming. Does wearing fins defeat the purpose of swimming? Absolutely not because you still have to swim. Fins make it easier to swim, the electric motor on a bike makes it easier to ride up those hills.

i see that point. but i look at as transportation. i can go a lot farther a lot faster and i don't have to be sweaty when i get there. also they can be ridden either way so if i want the exercise i can turn the motor off!

there are actually quite a few out there that aren't bank breakers! and soooooo fun!

absolutely! i take mine from ob to pb over those hills! sooooo much better with a motor!
