Do the talking heads believe their statements or is it ratings driven and if ratings driven will it cost them in the long run for future employment?

Only say what they say to have a different side even though it hurts their credibility.

Stand by their views and defend them privately

I think these guys bring passionate opinions not just for shock value, but they must support their side, because they will look dumb if they ever say, that was just for effect.SAS yells and screams so much, that he either really believes in his side, or he is convincing himself by getting emotional.Skip Bayless s the ultimate click bait, so do you think he believes what he says?

Not a fan of any of these guys... they pick an angle that “sells” and for “credibility” they stick with it.  Rarely feels genuine... Shock jocks ?

I do think they believe some of the stuff they say, but ultimately TV/Radio tend to be ratings driven and shows like PTI, etc. don't work without controversy. I means lets take Scotts interaction with Merimman, it wouldn't have been half as good or awesome if they didn't have a beef. Now while I believe Scotts is genuine mainly because Scott shares everything. The other guys just don't and sometimes stuff just seems manufactured.

Scott, this is the same Skippy Peanut Butter Bayless who said that Bam Bam Kam Chancellor was going to have a hard time containing Wes Welker in Super Bowl 48.  A few days later, the Seahawks brought home the Lombardi Trophy.
