Should President Trump have "played down" the coronavirus to avoid "panic" or should he have been honest with the American people?

People lose their minds over the simplest of things so I think he was correct. Issue the warnings and play it down. Having said that, I still don't think it's as bad as some are making it out to be. I also feel like it needs to spread so that we can build up our immune systems. I also feel like as soon as the elections ate done Corona will start to go away, magically!

Considering the panic over toilet paper, I think he made the right decision. People are nucking futs

I’d love to feel like telling everyone the complete truth as well would be the right idea, on the other hand look what happened when a little bit of it was, people panicked and overbought groceries and shut everything and let others decide what was “essential”. Anyways realistically if had told the truth would it really have been treated as the right decision or would the media/other found ways to say he made a mistake

Playing it down got us into this mess. Other countries are handling this a lot better than we are.

If he really knew that the virus would be dangerous, why didn’t he tell us?

In this instance, it would have been better to be honest and forth coming about COVID. There was so much confusion and miss information that led to a complete mishandling of the pandemic.
