If he is your ace you have to trust him. I wouldn't want him out of the Pen. Its hard for starters to come into a game in a relief spot.

As a starter probably not, probably in relief. He's proven to be okay at that in the playoffs, but has really struggled in playoff games.

I have no doubt that any GM would love to have him, and given that scenario, wouldn't hesitate to have him start that game (so long as he is healthy of course). I'm not a Dodger fan, but he's still one of the best pitchers in the game. I think his time will come.

As a life long Dodger fan, Kersh gets me going all through the regular season just to never come through in the end. Obviously the cheating Astros have something to do with it but still, ive lost a bit of faith in Kershaw.

I hear ya, how much has it declined, and how much does it now differ in velocity with his curve? As long as he still has 10-15 mph difference he should be fine. This year should be a telling one as the season isn't long enough for him to ear down like he has in years past. But that's a good call Derrick. I'll pay more attention to that this upcoming year.

The only thing that would scare me as a GM is the drop his fastball, he's really showing a decline similar to Jared Weaver which at first didn't look bad, but it reached the point where it wasn't reasonable anymore.

Sure, and yet he is still better than any Padres pitcher since Peavy's Cy young year, and plays for a team where he is able to choke in the playoffs. So some perspective is needed when evaluating this guy...Just saying and I'm a huge Padre fan!
