I can empathize with the reopening of the economy - people are losing their jobs and their means of supporting their families. Let's get people back to work before we get people back to surfing.

It’s to soon the virus will keep spreading

Charles Kaplan

Short term solutions to a long term problem. Until there's proper testing and viable treatments, the beaches need to stay closed.

The Red Pimp

If they sign that they won’t get medical attention once they’re infected, then they can go swimming or surfing. Dumbasses.

Christian Navarro

2300 cases in 2 months, only 500 hospitalizations.... out of 3.3 million people.... that is .00003 percent ..... it’s time for common sense re-opening. People get it, we don’t need the nanny government. Stay home in fear if you want, but people who want to go out and take common sense precautions should be allowed. Stop watching the news and social media and gain some perspective. 24/7 Covid hysteria is not reality.

Aaron Sutherland

The point of staying at home and distancing was to flatten the curve... not eradication. Flattening the curve is so hospitals are not overwhelmed. Hospitals and clinics are largely empty around San Diego to the point where most clinics have furloughed employees & closed since there is no elective surgeries & regular doctors visits etc.. The phased plan of re-opening our economy is critical to the country. It won’t disappear overnight, but we have learned about it, stocked up on equipment etc. and with a phased reopening we can manage the Potential load on hospitals.

Brad Fitzpatrick

It’s not like this is a time for activists, it’s pandemic not a rights movement! What is protesting going to do for the people working 12 hours a day and people dying.

Julia Kaplan

The protesters were stupid on two levels. Nobody thinks we should intentionally try to catch COVID. So bad move avoiding distancing. That said, the beaches, parks and golf courses are all equally safe and it is time! Caution and distancing are important and other businesses require comprehensive proposals to avoid more cases.

Bob Rauch

What can't we do both? It is nonsensical to close the parks and beaches... mental health is also important, people understand they should distance.
