Elliot’s memo was scathing, and though it stops short of killing the deal, it says SDSU’s final offer is risky for the city and accuses the university’s team of negotiating in bad faith.

VERIFIED

Can’t believe this ballot measure won. I still feel Soccer City had the better intentions. SDSU reminded me of the seagulls in Finding Nemo, “Mine, mine, mine, mine...” I think it’ll be great if it never gets done so all of us soccer fans who still got the SD Loyal can say, I told you so!

Coach Alex

I think it will get done, but just like every other project in San Diego it will be done in a lot longer that you'd expect. Probably be five years or so.

Derrick McQuinn

It was a laughable ballot initiative from the start. If they had come with a plan in place to have the land already negotiated for and basically bought, an actual plan for a stadium, and the resources to break ground right away, it would be built. They didn’t. But I do remember another ballot initiative that did...

The Murph/Q whatever name it has now will be the Roman ruins of our time.

I just hope I’m still around when it FINALLY does! 🙏

Joe Rigby

Will it get built yes. Will it get built fast...hell no. And yes you are correct this has been a city run like a little town since I moved here in 1989. I will say Falcouner is a complete dolt. Hopefully Todd Gloria becomes Mayor...I think he is our best chance for true progress.

I just hope I’m still around when it does 🙏

Eventually, I'm sure it'll get built but I'm not optimistic about the 2022 timeline.

I think the divisiveness is over and the two sides can come together (Soccer City and SDSU) and finally get construction started soon. With Covid it'll be hard to gain traction but it will happen.

Bob Rauch

San Diego politics never disappoint do they.

Will Aztec Stadium ever get built?
