I think we all got the message: Black Lives Matter. It was needed and certainly brought the issue to the forefront. How much good are protests at this point. We all know black lives matter. No Justice not Peace. Time to stop wasting your time holding up signs and start being proactive trying to make real change.

Jack Thomas

yes and plan on taking the kids to a protest. A scheduled one. they need to experience something like this. When I was growing up I learned about MLK and how he had protests. Now this is happening they need see a life experience

Bernard Thompson

I just don't protest it's not me and I just don't believe in it, because at the end of the day what happens? are we going to end racism? No, never its not going to happen I have been a victim or Racism from White people and Mexican. White people Verbally, Mexicans physically, and I for one understands how the world works and the reality of how people are, you just have to understand that people are the way they are.. and we cant change them. I guess what are protesting? injustice, yeah that should be a given, but what is walking around going to do? show that we shouldn't do the horrible things that people do.. yeah most of us already know that.. and the people that do these horrible things are not going to get it from people protesting, Sorry just my own view and opinion.. hopefully that's still allowed. Never against people protesting, but it's just not me, I am out changing the world in my own right protesting is not one way I do it.

I will not be joining the protests. There is too many unknown variables with so many people around. Especially the people that are not from our Community just out to start trouble and push an agenda. When things get out of hand you don't want to be out caught in that environment. We've seen too many innocent people get hurt or killed on tv and on social media.

Totally in the same position Scotty! I actually want to (so do the girls) and think would be an amazing education, experience and opportunity to stand for and voice what we feel needs to change. But for safety reasons haven’t yet (except to drive by and honk and wave with signs) in an attempt to keep them safe. Worries of possible violence... would I be able to keep them safe?? (ultimately my biggest concern) and of course the rona (probably least of my concern but it’s relevant). I was thinking I’d wait and see this weekend if they remain mostly peaceful we’d join but on the “conservative” side, perhaps attend smaller local ones or maybe more “from a distance” of the bigger ones?

I’m so proud of them, the cause is so important, has feels like it has momentum...want to cease the opportunity to have them know they can make a difference and learn even more than they know now, racism is unacceptable and needs to end. It’ll be up to them to end it forever!

i would go (and take a 13 yo) early in the rally/protest. usually pretty peaceful then. imo it would be great exposure and let her express herself. just stay close by and if things start getting more ramped up head home

MaryBeth Zmuda

Absolutely not, this is not something for a 13 year old. Unfortunately, the protesters have been overtaken by looters and violent types at many of these events. Too dangerous--in addition, I was sorry to see all the protesters who did not distance and did not wear masks--not because it is so dangerous to not wear masks but because it is disrespectful of those who are afraid.

Bob Rauch

Probably not but its more that this isn't my thing or personality, I'll voice my displeasure differently. I don't know that I wan't my kid if I had one to go to one either for the same reason as Scott Mentioned, at the same time if it was something the really wanted to or felt they needed to do then I'd want to take them, so at least I had some control of the situation.

Derrick McQuinn

Not that I am against it but i would suggest to my kids to stay safe and is the risk worth the risks, particularly in today's environment.

Jason Finley

It's way to dangerous, if it goes bad it goes bad quick.

The problems we have are our own making. We as a society continue to vote incumbents in year after year, and then wonder why we don’t have change. Will Joe Biden really help American with changes? He’s been in Washington DC since 1973 as a senator. We you have Senators and Representatives who have served over 20 years what do you think they care about? They know how to campaign and what to say to get elected but we don’t hold them accountable for their actions once they are sworn in. If we as a people actually let politicians know we were serious and followed through with our actions then change would happen. Instead we will protest, complain, and riot for a while until we find something new that sparks interest and then we move on. How about we use our voices and get together across all states and find new people who will here our message and do something about changing the problems in America. Until this happens real change will not happen there will be another incident of police brutality and then we will repeat the cycle.

black people need to stop breaking the law, and start respecting authority.
