Yes, but do it from different SD restaurants, breweries, etc and expand marketing specials for them to your listeners to let you do it there and take a cut of the promotions. Do a different show at a different place every week or few days.  Think outside the box!

Doing Youtube is a short sided vision for the whole 1090 line up. I don't know how you guys are getting paid or how the advertisement works off YouTube but I'm guessing that it won't be enough to pay the salaries. This listener although doesn't listen to everyone in the  line up the day job get's in the way. It may take some time but find someone who is willing to invest in a state of the art Studio and create a new station but it has to pencil (I understand that that is a tall order and perhaps not viable in this small media market). The other option is to migrate to the other stations. This allows talent to continue doing what they love for a city that loves them.

You Tube is great, but please also find an audio-only streaming medium so we can listen in the car.  Video streams hog bandwidth and keep us  from using navigation apps while we drive.

Scott I think you need to get the entire team together, find out the costs to start a local radio station here, find investors and long time business relationships to chip in, and then open up investment by your listeners to chip in and buy stock to be part owners. Can you imagine all your listeners and diehards having a tiny piece of the action? Come on Scott do you see the light? Go full Blues Brothers here, get the band back together, and make this happen.

YouTube is the seconded biggest visited website in the world. 70% of Millennials say they can’t live without YouTube. Either that or go to a station with big budget and support staff to grow!  Or PPL.  Pay-per-listen.  Make an hour of the show free via podcast and the raining 2-3 hours for VIP listeners at say $5 to $10 per month .  Just my stupid ass opinion.  I have no idea what I will fill the 3 1/2 hours per day now to listen to.

I agree with the statement on the YouTube show earlier in the day that radio is a dead industry .  You cannot have a business that is already in the hole for $1.2 million.  

One thing that I would suggest is working with some San Diego podcasts (various sports related) and unite with them in creating a YouTube channel.  I feel that the streaming of radio shows on the major networks are the “IT” thing.  At least on YouTube, I can view what I want at night.  As a high school teacher by day and basketball coach/ track and field coach by night, I love podcasts and YouTube channels that allow myself the opportunity to view shows that I want to watch.  Hopefully, this helps you from someone from Los Angeles.
