I tried to be unbiased as I am a Padres fan who started as a Dodgers fan growing up. I modeled my own play after Maury Wills and even invited him to my bar-mitzvah. So here goes:

Pitching - slight edge to Dodgers if and only if Trevor Bauer is as good as he was last season and if they shore up their bullpen. This could turn to Padres quickly based on Gore as potential star and Rosenthal as superior closer

Catching - I'm calling this even

Infield - advantage Padres led by the strongest 1B, SS, 3B combo in baseball

Outfield - I'm calling this even as well with Myers hitting full stride and a generally strong contingent of offensive and defensive threats

This Padres team is not weak in any way. They might be the best team in baseball. Dodgers are formidable but far from unbeatable this year. Watch and learn

The Padres are unproven. IF the Padres preform like they did in the 60 sprint season then the division will be closer. But until then it’s the Dodgers division 100%

What the frick is this? First off the starting rotation? Kershaw buehler Bauer is MILES better than snell darvish lamet (if you wanna use the argument “Bauer was only good in a 60 Game season” that’s the case for darvish and lamet too who weren’t as good as Bauer)


Catching??? Smith has had a 937. OPS in two seasons! Nolas was 808.

The biggest thing is the outfield!! The Dodgers have 2 MVPS Bellinger and Betts AND the extremely underrated AJ Pollock who do the Padres have? Oh Myers a career 776 OPS
