It is possible to have three stars on a single team (Jordan, Pippen, Rodman), but I do not think it will work with three scorers who see themselves as stars.

Stars win in the NBA, and if you can get three of the top 20, it almost always gets you to the Finals.  West, Goodrich, Wilt.  Magic, Kareem, Worthy.  Jordan, Rodman, Pippen.  LeBron, Wade, Bosh.  Steph, Klay, Durant.  It’s a pattern that has been going on for 50 years.

Kyrie is the wildcard. This team CAN work, but the question is, will they put the sacrifices in to win. Two of the greatest scorers the game has ever seen with the best ball handler the game has ever seen... can be some SERIOUS firepower.

These three personalities are a far cry from Steph, Klay and KD.. MJ, Scottie and Horace/Rodman.. Bird, McHale and Parish.. and certainly there are more. Those others were first and foremost about team. Did they butt heads at times, sure. But ultimately they were trios of individual greatness, with all of them perfectly in sync with each other. That’s never been Harden or Kyrie relative to teammates. Plenty of evidence to support it. Great players but no, there’ll be issues and zero titles.

2 Biggest Head Cases in NBA. Kyrie couldn’t get along with James in Cleveland. Harden never got along with Paul or Westbrook at Houston. They would need a minimum of two balls to play with at the same time

The only issue with this trade is they just gave away their 22 year old rim protector in Allen, who'll they'll miss this year come the playoffs against Boston and Philly. But, similar to the Lakers and their decision to roll with Gasol instead of Howard, they are banking that they will have too much fire power offensively and will simply outscore teams. If these three can move and share the ball, get in a groove and gel, and they are all healthy and committed, they will have as good a chance as anybody this year to win it all. Their issue is going to come on the defensive end.

Idk JI. Can Harden or Kyrie do what is right for a team. Can they understand it is bigger than just them as individuals and scorers. If they want to win, they have talent, but can they create chemistry!?
