Is this Tom Brady story setting up to have a Hollywood ending, will he play for the Chargers?

The Buccaneers have not been a much better franchise than the Chargers over the last decade, but it's closer to New York (his family), and the chance to play with Arians. Ultimately, I think Spanos may get lucky, Tom chooses Tampa, which is what Lynn and Telesco would prefer.

Yes he will end up with the Chargers and that will be the nail in the coffin for any ounce of interest I had in the team!

Can’t see it, Brady is smarter than he looks but almost hope it happens... don’t think he’ll sell many more tix for them (May pick up some Boston transplants) but almost sure Angelenos despise anything from Boston, Brady won’t be able to perform even with the c-words talent, lack of leadership from the top down, cheap and inept and nothing like seeing Brady fail... could just be the nail in Spanos’ coffin

nope he is going to the Bucs :) yes I know...amazing how I can repeat publicly announced news :)

Tom will end up with the Chargers as long as the Chargers understand he is their only hope to create a fan base. The Chargers have been short sighted for quite some time but this time they better see the light!!! Pay him what he wants$$

if you look at the chargers moves in free agency there making it really tempting for Brady .shipping out okung for a pro bowl guard .franchise tagging hunter Henry ..resigning Austin Ecker the second best reviving back in the nfl that’s what Brady loves to do throw to backs ...we still can possible add a tackle at 6 or through free agency also a rb another backer and dt and the draft will improve this team .pouncy is back from injury a top center in the league .this team has a top 5 wr in Keenan Allen look at the stats .then you have mike Williams 1000 yards this year and the defense with guys like bosa,Ingram,James ,Hayward ,Phillips ,Perryman .the chargers are a great destination for Brady.

I have to think that TB is smarter than this, but sometimes a players EGO can make them think that they still have it and can make any team great. With all that said I mean He has to know how ridicoulus this franchise is. I mean, how they treated their fans and moved is #1, but firing marty after 14-2 season, the mishandling of Gates, LT, Seau, Rivers, Weddle, and so on.. this Ownership is motel 6 and the Patriots are Cesars palace! ( hate to say that) but it's true! To think you are in not the twilight of your carrier, but at the 11th hour and you think you can change a franchise around with no fans... good luck if he does, but I say no right now!

If it is really down to the Bolts or Bucs, he's going to LA. They have a good D and some good skilled pieces on offense that fit him well. They need OL help immediately to make sure he stays healthy. Hard to imagine Brady choosing Spanos led organization, even harder to imagine how incredibly fortunate Dean is if he comes. They need a buzz in LA and this would certainly generate one. Now having said all that, Brady is 42 and will be subjected to a new head coach and a loser of an organization. Can he turn the tide in the win column, you know he will help make them money if he comes.

And it's La Would you really rather live Tampa a California kid

Chris, kind of like what Scott was alluding to, I don't think this is purely a football decision. The Bucs, do have potential, don't get me wrong, but if Brady was thinking purely football other teams come to mind, but of course, he would have to be offered. I really think, as crazy as it sounds, the deciding factor between Tampa and LA, was distance to family. Not just the closer flight, but time change plays a big role. Call me crazy!

I still find it hard to believe Brady will leave New England for a sub par franchise. If he were headed to Green Bay, Dallas, Baltimore, I would say those are organizations that spare no expense, the Bucs are like the Chargers or Bengals, just half ass in everything they do, until now, when they get the GOAT!

Ok, no need for an essay, haha, and thes points you list make a lot more sense. Tampa definitely has some weapons for sure and Arians scheme is much better suited than Lynn's, who seems to love the run first, limit turnovers, and TOP/ball control first mentality. The Chargers need a left tackle badly. But do you think this is purely going to be a football decision for him at this stage in his career?

No, a lot more goes into it, scheme fit, skill guys, defense, divisional opponents, etc. Just didn't want to write an essay on it.

Really, you think the greatest QB of all time is going to leave the Patriots for Tampa Bay, just so he could remain close to New York and play with Arians? That must be some connection that he has with Arians that most of us don't know anything about.
