I NEVER watch pre season football, but I am aware it is happening, when it is. This summer, the lack of pre season, and training camps under the radar, many people don’t seem to even know the NFL is back. The other issue is that MLB, NBA, and the excitement of all sports happening at the same time, has made NFL football take a back seat. However, I got one am ready for some football!

I was a Bears fan for years until becoming a Chargers fan, now back to Bears but I fear they may play like the Berenstein Bears this year.

Completely spaced it. I even missed the roster cut down day. Something I’ve never done. I think the owners/players are in for a bit of awakening on more fronts than they bargained for. Covid has changed viewing habits. Check out the Severe rating hits the nba, mlb, nhl, nascar, golf, tennis , horse racing, are all taking. The nfl thinks they are immune to that. They won’t be.

I’ve been counting the days since the draft

Couldn’t be more excited for the season!

Totally did, only reason I know at the moment is because I started questioning if we were doing a fantasy football league and pickem league at work, which led to me asking when football was even starting. Thank gosh its coming

I've been wrapped up in college ball (B1G specifically) trying to pull is collective head out of its ass. Totally didn't realize nfl was about to start.

MaryBeth Zmuda

I’ve been caught up so much with basketball and everything going on I totally forgot about football I’m glad it starts this week

Bernard Thompson

more so because my team doesn’t exist anymore.

The scheduling this year with professional sports this year js way off, normally I'd just be focued mainly on the MLB, College Football, and the start of the NFL season. Since the Chargers bailed SD, without fantasy football, I haven't really cared too much about the NFL. I'm trying to keep an open mind, but once your girl bails you for another man, it's hard to want to tune in and watch them date!

Christopher Moreno

I forgot until my fantasy league kicked off and reminded me

Pawpaw

I totally forgot about it since the usual kick off is the hof game and also I totally forgot about hardknocks since people usually hype it up all the time. Now with Hardknocks having 2 teams that no one cares about in a city people will totally forget

Trevor Harris

I’d rather support my Padres and MLB who actually want to be here in SD. Plus NFL owners are huge money grubbing assholes...

I think they will have better numbers than the other leagues, but not what they are accustomed to.

I think you are right, people have moved on in life without sports!

Lakers, Padres, Tennis. Just spaced on NFL. It’s hard after being a Charger fan my whole life I’m lost. I’m going to follow Indy because of Rivers. I’m a Charger hater too.

Are you into other sports, or are you not watching as much?

Yup, we all have them of/for our favorite teams. There are a few that come to mind with the Chargers, 2OT win over Miami in 82, 94 playoffs and super bowl run, 2005/2006/2007 years with LT, win over Manning/Colts in the playoffs, but that is about it. The Fours era when I was a kid was my favorite. Unfortunately those teams could never advance. They never had a 1985 year like the Bears. Oh well. This year, the Pads are finally there with the opportunity to creat some new memories that will hopefully endure like 1984 and 1998. One can hope. SD is due! Your hotel and tourism career sounds pretty amazing.

Ha, those are some pretty cool experiences and stories Bob. I grew up in San Diego watching and admiring them from afar. They were an awesome team for a few years that decade!

Yes, I was living in Chicago back in the late 70s and became close to those players. As a young hotel manager I hosted summer camp, team meals and joined them out at Ditka's, a great night club! Dave Williams and I hit the town there, he was Walter Payton's blocker/backup/kick returner, Noah Jackson would force me to open the bar at 2a (Itold him I couldn't do it legally)

Me too! I am so excited for what might be a very strange season.

Isn’t that interesting! See this season has snuck up on people.

Totally agree Kap... “no dog in the fight”. I still watch/enjoy but it’s just not the same.

I think former charger fans are over the nfl in many ways!
