Colin Kaepernick sent this Instagram post, suggesting violence is justified, what do you think?

Yes, it’s the only way to wake up America.

Violence is never the answer it just creates more chaos and in turn creates more violence and resentment.

While I never condone violence, I understand why the black community feels they must resort to this. Nobody ever does anything, and racism is not changing. That POS cop (and I am not anti cop,) pressed on George Floyd's neck for over 8 minutes, while he was restrained and handcuffed, and not one other officer did anything to stop it. People didn't listen when Kaepernick peacefully protested, and hated him for doing it. No one is listening. This violence won't help, either, but the black community is exhausted, is preyed upon, and is FED UP. Can you imagine if white people were preyed upon and victims of racism?? We protested over wearing a mask and not being able to surf for a few weeks! Imagine if we were treated as the black community is!

I just don't think violence is generally the answer, I also don't think looting and rioting and destroying does anything but cause more hate as well. To top it off your only hurting others that support you or that is one of you. It'd be one thing if they were going after their local government or police, but its just crazy to me how you help your self by destroying grocery stores or local businesses.

I wholeheartedly want to believe there is a resolution that does not involve violence and shouldn’t ever be the answer. Unfortunately it’s already upon us. It’s up to all of us to come together, truly LISTEN to one another and avoid escalation. Wake up America before there is no alternative!!

I can vote both ways, I see both sides, while violence is maybe not the
answer it may have to be done so people can open their
eyes to what is going on and how serious it really is.
Would I be doing this no, but I do understand why the people in Minnesota
are doing it.

the peaceful type of protest hasn't had too much of an effect. cannot blame people for fighting for their lives - LITERALLY

First things first this is not protests, this is Rioting, we talk about violence as it's only perpetrated towards The one individual cop or cops, This violence is towards innocent bystanders and companies, why do we justify Stores being looted and businesses being burned down is that JUSTIFIED for the Cause? Never! Trust me I have had my fair share of discrimination and bullying by police and yeah their is Anger and pride that goes with it, but I know when to stand up to authority and when to fall in line... As a Therapist I can't promote Anger even though I understand and been there, because at the end of the day Anger and violence does not solve anything, but then again whoever BARKS loudest at any means necessary can be heard, But remember if you support violence then you support violence towards innocent bystanders who are getting caught in the crossfire.

I believe that someone needs to lay out exactly what policy we want changed.

Of course we want to put an end to police brutality, but how do we do that?

We need to protest for measurable goals such as convictions of the officers involved, improved police training, increased diversity in the police force, etc.

Protesting without a set goal can often fall on deaf ears

Really? Violence is a sick answer. I reserve that for when someone gets personal with me or my family and threatens to hurt us. It's called self defense.

This what I struggle with. What happened was horrible. What is happening is horrible. More dialogue, less violence...but I have no idea really...

This debate has been going on in this country since it's founding. Just ask Native American communities. There are also other historical figures and social movements led by Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Thich Nhat Hanh, among others, that have been non-violent in nature and very effective in creating awareness and structural changes.

I completely get why there angry, and its definitely justified. Just never understood about going after local business, peoples cars, or people themselves.
