Are you stock piling food and supplies out of Coronavirus fear?

Absolutely NOT!!! When I was a kid growing up in Florida, every Hurricane season, the media scared us into running to the grocery store to stock up on food and water, as we anticipated getting wiped off the map. Then the hurricane would make a slight turn, and we were all safe, but stocked up! IMO, Coronavirus is a media hysteria fabrication. I am not saying it doesn’t exist, but I feel like we are getting scared into believing this is going to shut down the world!

Been trying to stock up on bottled water for our tour guests. My local Costco has been out for 2 weeks now of most sizes of bottled water. Completely insane. People should be more worried about crossing the street

Toby McDonald

No. I do usually keep a fair amount of water in my home in the form of 5 gallon containers and water bottles. I’m more concerned of a natural disaster happening that may require us to stay home for an extended period of time. Although, the current crisis of a national shortage of mask has affected the lives of blue collar workers who use them on a daily basis.

I do not buy in to media scare tactics. I asked a dude at Costco why he was stock piling bottled water and his response was "just in case"! Just in case?! Of what?! Most people don't even know! How about you do what you're supposed to do and wash your hands and stay away from sick people. This is why I don't watch the news...

Erik J Nelson

Heck yea! My family will use it all at some point so might as well be safe than sorry.

The regular flu kills more people per year than corona ever will. Yet noone stockpiles for that.

I always have enough food and water to protect against displacement, earthquake and other events that can occur. Coronavirus is a potential quarantine and and supply disruption. Not really different.

Bob Rauch

No this is absolutely crazy, we keep some emergrency supplies in case of a major earthquake or natural disaster. So if anything we are covered. The media has overhyped this.

Bob, you and I are up early! Congrats on your amazing posts, celebrating an incredible career! I have been thinking about you, as I plan to put local ads on to Sided, as we continue to prove what the platform can do, particularly for local stations or personalities.

Totally agreed. I was in a paint store recently, and there was a guy buying all the painter masks, I asked why, he said to be safe, just in case! People are losing their collective minds!
