Should There Be A Punishment For A False Rape Allegation? How Severe?

I don't know how anyone could argue against this. False accusations should definitely be punished. False accusations not only hurt those that are accused but also real victims that want to share their stories

Hell yes.. for giving a false statement the person should get arrested and sent to prison for numerous years and labeled as a sex offender. It is not right to lie about that and have the person that you accuse of doing this whole life ruined...

I had a childhood friend that grew up in an amazing, loving, christian home, attending private christian schools his whole life and served 7 years on a false rape accusation. Long story short, he and his girlfriend had broken up, but remained friends with benefits afterwards. When the girl found out he was dating again, she went to his house, they hooked up, she left, and the next day police are at his door arresting him based on her word and a ripped t-shirt. I'm not saying, because he was christian he couldn't have done this, I wholeheartedly know that being the type of person he is there is no way he could've even been mentally or physically capable of doing something that horrific. His parents literally went bankrupt, lost their house, sacrificed everything to fight it and lost. A pissed off ex-girlfriend literally ruined the life of a 21 year old kid cause she was jealous. Karma is the only justice she'll be served, but I hope she gets it tenfold.

Yes otherwise you continue to allow baseless claims which does ruin lives. Plus false claims end up making us all more desensitized to all legit claims.
