How may current events affect a diverse locker room?

I will be curious to hear from this diverse collection of stats we have assembled, but in my experience, racial tension can divide a locker room, and kill a very talented team. My experience is out of touch with the current climate of sports and race, within a locker room, mine is based in experiences 25 years ago. The modern athlete is likely more informed and more opinionated than ever, and if sports brings people together, especially teammates, the events of today, could bring a diverse group together, more so, than any other time!

It could certainly be both but I think it is so controversial with so many different backgrounds on most teams that there is a greater potential for issues.

Always have to look for a positive outcome. Hey why not start now and with these people . Hope it turns out well

Bernard Thompson

Sports has always brought people together!

Anthony Avila

I think this will definitely bring a team together cuz they will rally with one another because their brothers or sisters and a team sport is like an extended family

Philip J Muniz

Definitely can cause some problems, especially if people don't respect others views or can't treat work like work.

Derrick McQuinn

Let's think positive and hope they all respect each other even when we disagree on an approach like kneel vs stand.

Bob Rauch

Hopefully it brings lots of groups together.

MaryBeth Zmuda

I think it could do both... BUT I believe locker rooms and sports are more tolerant of diversity, unified and the current events will only bring them that much closer.

Knowledge is power and understanding. Communication is important. The 3rd option from Pastor Miles is about focusing on what we have in common.
