I’m sure it’s always been tough considering the danger and risks involved with a career in law enforcement... feel it will be much harder to recruit and hire quality candidates today. I hope the community and law enforcement can somehow come together, address a system that has been broken for a long time and ultimately collaborate for a unified resolution... I think it would go a long way toward repairing the relationship and reputations.

We will look forward to the former Chief, Shelly Zimmerman’s  perspective on this,  but it would occur to me, being a coo today is a very lonely feeling. As Shelly said in her OpEd, the link is in the citations, good cops hate bad cops, and the bad cops have made it difficult for the majority, and I assume made it very difficult to recruit good people to a thankless type profession, especially now.

Just like most professions, cops are good people and should be supported big time despite a few bad apples. Throw out the bad batch by attacking the real problem in any profession--unions that protect bad employees. Teachers, cops and more. The overwhelming majority are good but weeding out is essential!

Be afraid. Be verrrrry afraid! The Minneapolis officer was bad - we all saw it with our own eyes. But Atlanta? That was justifiable defense! Ask any “Use of Force’” expert - there are several we’ve been in touch with.

If GOOD cops get slammed with bogus Felony Murder charges, there is NO incentive for any good guys to be cops. That’ll leave you with Antifa members, radical militant BLM members (think: Black Panthers of the 1960s), walking around with AK-47s monitoring who can come & go on every street corner (like they’re currently doing in Seattle with CHAZ). No thanks!!
