Most people act differently when being filmed or recorded.  It’s using technology to keep law enforcement accountable.  Some abuse their power and for those the body camera protects the citizens.  The body camera also protects law enforcement from citizens as well.

Yes but who says they will actually turn them on.. something happens and they come back and say “oh it didn’t record sorry” it should be mandatory and have them on at all times

Not only to keep them honest but it should also help to show when people have done something wrong it can be evidence.   The technology is there.

Mandatory and no ability to control in the field, tech and equipment are available... why not? Anything is better than what’s going on today.

You would think they would and seem to have given more clarity in various situations. Frankly if a department or office refused to wear one I would be wondering there reason why.

It seems it would solve a lot confusion and doubt.

The body cams have already proven that it helps deescalates a potential unpleasant situation that could easily be worse. Body cams also give makes the officer more accountable for his actions and maybe the police can learn from a certain interaction during training which helps make the police department better.

Just don't allow them to do that.   Companies like Corky's have GPS on the cars their guys drive - they can't turn it off
