This is a no brainer, Cousy played with HOF’ers every yr.. Chaimberlin was shot when he played w/JW, Baylor never passed the ball. Cousy barely shot 40%, JW was close to 50%...

He was a shooting guard, not a point guard.

All due respect to Magic, probably one of the top 5 players of all time, but not a “pure” point guard. Magic was more of a freak of nature which has never been duplicated. I’d consider Stockton, Oscar, Mark Price type of players as pure points.

With all due respect to Jerry West, who is one of the greatest guards/players to ever lace them up, but shouldn't this list be expanded from the 1960s to include, oh, let's say Magic Johnson, who is regarded by most former players, coaches, hall of famers, and NBA media experts, as the best NBA point guard of all time. Magic revolutionized the position in the 80s and won 5 rings. Jerry was amazing, for sure, but I'm sure most people don't consider him a true point guard or one of the best PGs to ever play. He's the logo who ran into the Celtics too many times.

Ok, he was their lead guard, I'll give you that, scorer mostly and passer who initiated their offense. But when I think of a pure point guard, a pass first point guard, Jerry West's name doesn't come to mind. There are so many other "pure" point guards that come to mind that defined that position over time ... Magic, Stokton, Kidd, Oscar, etc.
