What is your take on the new Rooney Rule in the NFL?

this insulting so they are saying they have to give an
interview to a black coach. Thats like a slap in the face its insulting.
They should do it because they earned it and not out of pity.

this rule has been around since 2003 with expantions to it taking place for the last (almost) 2 decades. it has helped but still needs tweeking.

MaryBeth Zmuda

Ya just like the last rule they'll find a way around this one too.

Derrick McQuinn

I don't care where you are from or who you are. If you are qualified you should get an interview. I don't want my hand forced to interview someone if they are qualified.

Darrin Schallock

There are many talented minority coaches in all sports. On their own, they will get a fair share of those jobs. Let the teams pick the best coach and over time, things will work out. It's like saying a woman should be on every board--yes, they should but not via mandate.

Bob Rauch

Ridiculous to require a business owner (sports or not) to interview minorities just because they feel unfairly treated!
Why dont they require the NBA to start two white guys in every game?
Hire the best candidate for the position, black, white, green or yellow, the race SHOULD NOT BE A REQUIREMENT!
Fucking stupid!

Tod from East County

This will be great for football and getting the right people the job.

Jason Finley

Teams found a loop hole around the rooney rule before. This will be no different.

Shaun DuCross

Its a good rule in theory but in practice who knows

scott delvins

Exactly give it a couple years and someone else will complain and they'll be another new Rooney RUle.
