That wasn’t the reason he died. Jigsaw knew that the cop was so obsessed with finding his partner that he let it take over his life and he lost his family and eventually his life for it.

Then you would have walked in and your own friend would have shot you and then You would have seen your friends head smashed between 2 blocks of ice... gotta pay attention to the message in each movie.

Exactly! Otherwise your own friend that you are trying to save will end up shooting you.
