Some school districts & government leaders have been floating idea of school-aged kids not returning full time to school in the Fall.

Bad idea. It will be fine and who's going to watch kids of working parents?

Good idea. We should all stay in quarantine until COVID19 goes away.

"fine" is a relative word but in reality if you look at SD county over half of the deaths have come from retirement homes, etc. Kids need to be in school, not only to learn but for social development, they will not grow as human beings sitting at home with only immediate family. Find solutions to make the school environment safer.

these kids need to be back as soon as possible. once things are getting better. they need to be screened.
also in china the kids are back in school, they go through a daily check before they enter the school.
 that needs to happen here.

Both good and bad idea. Good because when kids get sick that shit passes around like fire. I've been part of one of those epidemics at school and it took out about 5/8 our high school.

Bad idea because lets face it there is a lot of kids suffering education wise because either their school districts are blowing at this whole thing and or their parents aren't holding them to learning while there at home. I don't think it helps putting these kids further behind.

I don't believe in the "acceptable amount of dead" ratio. Losing any lives when the situation could have been prevented is the moral choice that we should take.
Just because this is the way that we have always done things does it mean that we need to keep on doing it that way. This change can be for the better all around.
The work environment can change to where there are multiple shifts, remote working may be a norm, etc. These are all changes that can be for the good. We are no longer need to work 9 to 5 at an office. And if this change means more kids live and don't catch ANY virus, then I am for it.

Those at risk are 80+ or with underlying health problems. Schools need to re-open. The education of our kids and jobs for adults are critical. Stop looking at number of deaths and start looking at the big picture. We can't keep a closed economy and print money forever.

Bob Rauch

It's time to realize the risk to kids and teachers is low and our kids have already been harmed enough. This move would mean even more economic destruction on working families as parents - who have returned back to work - would now face a child care disaster. Not to mention if the parent wasn't home, who would ensure they continue their studies? Just a bad idea and once again shows the lack of ingenuity and management in public education.

It takes a village. The village idiots are the ones with the catchy slogans about staying home.
