No. When they weren’t prohibited it shouldn’t be held against the player.

No way! How can you punish someone for breaking a rule that wasn’t a rule? That’s just plain ridiculous and laughable. I’ll bet a high percentage of NFL HOF’s wouldn’t be there if that was the case. Lyle was a beast and his numbers should put him in, his honesty shouldn’t keep him out, most would never admit they did.

In MLB yes, but football no. Not sure why the distinction but just the way it is. I feel Antonio Gates is still a lock but probably shouldn't be. I wish NFL had a higher standard and rules but they don't and never will. MLB is the gold standard, NFL for once the bronze standard when it comes to PEDS etc. MLB is holy, NFL has OJ Simpson still in. Enough said.
