Players need to figure out whether the defensive schemes just don't work or they're just getting out-worked . . At the same time, you give up 42 - 42 - 45 pts the last 3 yrs coming off the bye week, then coaching DEFINITELY comes into question as well.

Guenther, because it's his plan and leadership (or lack thereof...); the players, because, they not executing the plan, they're not up for task and/or prepared; and Gruden and Mayock, as they're the ones who brought these players into the building believing that they were the best fit/available and/or could afford.

Ultimately, it falls on Guenther. The offseason did create a unexpected hurdle with some of the young guys on defense, BUT, this late in the year they should have been picking things up by now. Even if it is Guenther's scheme, you would still see flashes of effort. Instead we see alot of confusion. They simplified it against KC, and that went pretty good (not great). But if by week 7 it still wasn't simplified enough, that also has to fall on the players as well. I do expect some defensive line personnel change to try and spark a fire under them. However, I would also like to see some schematic adjustments. Guenther has to adapt to his players, and they have to want to learn this system, or it's going to be a long year.
