Should essential workers like Grocery workers get hazard pay while the pandemic is still around ?

Covid is going 2 B around for a while&employees R risking their lives yet businesses meanwhile R rolling in the dough.

No, they signed up for this line of work.

Leslie Parada

The only problem is that higher wages encourage the loss of jobs

Michael Johnson

It's a free society, work where you want. Businesses are not rolling in the dough.

VERIFIED

You may think businesses are rolling in the dough not necessarily true. As a business owner by the time they pay workers comp, payroll taxes, insurance, and all the other fees for regulations it isn't what you think.

If emplyees don't want a job that's their choice. Be grateful you have that opportunity to work

Toby McDonald

I don’t think anyone is rolling in the dough right now, but these workers need something extra.

Maybe, on the other hand from what I know the Souther California Grocery market is super competitive and got a lot of players in it right now (And a couple more that are suppose to be coming or are building currently), so doubt the leads to higher salaries, let alone most stores are examining of how to reduce employees so ya doubt this. From a construction side of things and seeing some of the trends and stuff some of these stores are trying to do, I don't see it.

Do they probably deserve the hazard, dealing without idiots pay, yes. but probably should be happy to be employed.

Derrick McQuinn

If you don’t want to work quit. There are 10 more waiting to replace you. I’m not trying to be insensitive but that is the reality.

Albert Long

Great Friends! Yeah any little extra will help survive the great california shakedown; union dues higher gas tax ...we know the drill

question

Man hospital workers don’t even get hazard pay... and now that is some bullshit.. we are right in the mix with confirmed cases

Bernard Thompson

They chose the job and not sure there are too many businesses are rolling in the dough

People on the front lines (including restaurants) will have to get paid more...and my bet is it will result in our costs going up! But Worth it!

It deffinatley does, the company I work for does a lot of Retail/Grocery Construction, and the major companies definitely working some things which are aimed at reducing labor cost.
