Personally embarrassed of my home towns politics, not guts, vision or leadership.

I’m 50/50 on this one. Proof is in the pudding. It’s a miracle Petco got built

Albert Long

yeah I think san diego is the problem. The city doesn't
want a stadium here. So by that being said no matter what happen it wouldn't have gotten built.

Bernard Thompson

I always felt that plan had a more solid foundation but it was doomed when it went up against the school

Private industry always has a way of figuring out how to get things done... particularly if they had an MLS expansion team putting pressure on the timeline.

Christopher Moreno

I'd be concerned if this would really happen, I think the infighting and outfighting from others who were annoyed by this would probably made this one a nightmare as well. Though financing wise it was probably more realistic.

Derrick McQuinn

I see a lot of people now claiming that Soccer City had a plan that would have gotten done. Honestly, I feel like if it had passed we’d be talking about someone at city government holding it up, and the SDSU people would be saying the same thing the Soccer City folks are saying now. Basically anything the SD city government touches goes to crap. The Chargers left, and literally everything city officials said would get done now that they’re gone hasn’t gotten done. It’s ok though, in 300 years Qualcomm will be a historical artifact that people come to see bringing their tourism dollars of which we will be holding votes to tax or not tax.

Darrin Schallock

they had a 3000 page plan that laid out every detail and dates with the promise that if they couldn't meet that plan they would give the land back. it was a beautiful plan

MaryBeth Zmuda

Pretty strong track record of San Diego and its government not being able to get things done.

Jason Finley

Because nothing gets done in this city. So friggin' divisive!

Bob Rauch

It seemed like a much more realistic plan. It seemed like it had the right backing. Was it Russian sabotage?

Except in San Diego, where the local politics will find a way to block or stall any plan regardless of how well it's put together
