What’s your take on the Colin Kaepernick NFL workout this weekend?

Kelli Calimlin

I think this is a bit of everything., but overall ultimately nothing has changed from the overall picture and that is Kapernick is more interested in taking a social stand/being a martyr then playing football. If he was really interested in playing he would have played the NFLs games and jumped through the hoops. At the same time the NFL probably did give him some ridiculous release and document, gaming on the fact that he probably wouldn't sign them, but by giving him a chance would be able to full move past it. To be fair it sounds like the NFL was being fairly accommodating. At the end of the day the NFL got what it wanted and will be able to say it gave Kapernick a "Fair Shot" and push past him. The funny thing it seems like Kapernick is still the biggest loser in all of this outside the fact this makes him a little relevant again so he can make some money. However, too play the Conspiracy Card maybe this was just the NFL Paying Kapernick to go away.

Publicity stunt on both sides. At this point, sign him or don't. I am grateful to Kaepernick for bringing attention to social injustice. He has established a legacy that his name with will always be associated with. If a team signs him, great. If a team doesn't sign hi, great. Work on your passion and if it is not football, go and do it!

This whole thing is bizarre to me, if an NFL team were interested in him, why not invite him to work out with the team like every other free agent? Also, he doesn’t want to play in the NFL. He can’t follow any NFL protocol and has audacity to move the work out to a high school after multiple teams sent scouts to watch him... rude.
